English version below

---

To commemorate Roger Van Overstraeten (founder and first ceo of imec), imec in collaboration with RVO-Society has decided to offer scholarships to foreign students. The RVO-Society scholarships are intended to give bright young students at master level the opportunity to build their capacity for research at imec. Additionally, these students are given the opportunity to discover Flanders, its cultural heritage, its people and its innovation dynamics. The RVO-Society scholarships should be considered as a stepping stone towards a more prolonged research activity, e.g. a phd at imec or a close collaboration with the students university in his or her homeland. Ultimately the RVO-scholarship alumni will grow into a world spanning network of ambassadors for Flanders in general and for imec in particular. (RVO-Society was founded after Roger Van Overstraeten died in 1999.)
